Accessible Luxury By Design
Accessibility is not a compromise on design - it is a commitment to reaching every customer.
Accessibility
For luxury brands, this means creating digital experiences that are beautiful, immersive, and usable by people of all abilities, including those using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or assistive technologies.
Accessibility is an ongoing part of responsible digital delivery. Skywire helps luxury brands design, build and maintain experiences that work for people using screen readers, keyboard navigation and other assistive technologies. We use WCAG 2.2 criteria to guide our work while preserving the visual and experiential standards that define each brand.
Our approach
We integrate accessibility into the design and development process from the start, not as an afterthought. Our team conducts manual and automated testing using screen readers, keyboard navigation, and a range of assistive technologies with a focus on genuine usability across real customer journeys.
For existing sites, we provide comprehensive accessibility audits with prioritised remediation plans, helping you achieve compliance efficiently and maintain it as your site evolves.

Frequently Asked
What is the European Accessibility Act?
The European Accessibility Act is EU legislation that introduced accessibility requirements for specified products and services, including ecommerce services, from June 2025. The exact scope, exemptions and national enforcement position depend on the organisation and service, so legal advice should be taken when determining obligations.
Will accessibility changes affect our brand design?
Accessible design and strong brand expression can work together, but some visual or interaction patterns may need adjustment. We work with creative and product teams to retain the brand's character while improving usability and addressing the agreed accessibility criteria.
What level of WCAG compliance should we target?
The target should reflect legal, contractual and user needs. WCAG 2.2 Level AA is a common baseline, and Skywire also considers relevant Level AAA criteria where they improve the experience. W3C does not recommend requiring Level AAA conformance across an entire site, and any formal conformance claim should follow a complete assessment of the stated scope.
How do you test for accessibility?
Testing can combine automated tools, keyboard review, screen readers, manual assessment and testing with people who use assistive technologies. The methods and assistive technologies are selected for the engagement, because automated checks alone cannot assess the complete customer experience.
Do you offer ongoing accessibility support?
Yes. Accessibility needs continued attention as content, components and customer journeys change. Support can include scheduled audits, remediation, guidance for internal teams and review of new features at an agreed cadence.
