It won’t be long until the arrival of the next edition of London Fashion Week (LFW), scheduled for 20th to 23rd February. Indeed, these dates reveal that the event this time around will be a day shorter than previously, concluding on a Monday.

Nor was that the only eyebrow-raising information to emerge from the official LFW schedule, which the British Fashion Council (BFC) – the body responsible for organising the trade show – issued on Monday 16th December.

It was revealed, for example, that Jonathan Anderson – a fortnight after winning his second prize as Designer of The Year in the annual British Fashion Awards – was not featured in the schedule.

This news comes just a week after the Camera della Moda – which organises Milan Fashion Week – disclosed that he would not stage a signature JW Anderson menswear collection in the northern Italian city in January. This is despite the Irish designer having staged men’s runway shows there over the last few years.

All of this raises the question of where Anderson will stage either his menswear or womenswear shows over the next three months. The fact of the Loewe creative director being partnered by the French luxury conglomerate LVMH, may indicate one destination being Paris.

The LFW schedule may have tightened, but it will still be a packed one

Turning attentions back to London, the more compact first LFW of 2025 may be welcomed by showgoers, given that over recent years, the final day of LFW – normally a Tuesday – has tended to be light in any case.

Indeed, on that quieter day, international buyers and editors have generally taken the opportunity to travel to Milan in readiness for that city’s fashion week.

LFW’s fall 2025 season will commence with Harris Reed on Thursday night. Following Reed will be a complement of up-and-coming and established brands alike, encompassing the likes of Burberry, Simone Rocha, Erdem, Denzilpartick, Edeline Lee, Roksanda, and Huishan Zhang.

There will be two new debutants on LFW’s February show calendar – Jawara Alleyne, the London-based fashion designer and artist from Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, and Keburia, the Georgian-born design label.

The London season will continue to blend physical with digital shows. New designers on the digital schedule are set to encompass such names as Demon Zhang, Pindiga, Sung Ju, Ranjith Kumar, and Hēracha.

Over at 180 The Strand, meanwhile, the BFC Newgen Show Space will be held, putting the spotlight on the likes of Ancuta Sarca, Chet Lo, DI PETSA, Charlie Constantinou, and Johanna Parv.

“LFW celebrates London’s positioning as a world-renowned cultural capital”

The BFC stated in a release: “LFW celebrates London’s positioning as a world-renowned cultural capital and creative incubator for emerging talent.

“This season, LFW will focus on shaping the future of British fashion while celebrating the city’s thriving independent designers, creative talent, and businesses.”
